FAU hosts children's photography exhibition

The artistic efforts of shutterbugs least about 400 are on contemporary pageantry at Florida Atlantic University.

The university galleries to Dorothy F. FAU's Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents an exhibition of photographs by children aged 8 to 17 from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.

The annual exhibition features photographs of 13 clubs and is part of a national photography meet the scheme involved in.

CANBERRA, Australia — Patricia Wrightson, the internationally acclaimed Australian children’s framer who attracted approve — and then analysis — for entwining Indigene mythology into her penmanship, has died at age 88.

In 1986, Wrightson was awarded the biennial Hans Christian Andersen Medal — the highest accolade for a author of children’s fiction — specified by the Swiss-based Oecumenical Live on Books for Youthful People for an novelist’s main part of industry.

She died of logical causes on Strut 15 in northern New South Wales specify several days after being hospitalized, her son Peter Wrightson said Thursday.

The two used up the last 32 years of her soul living on a timbered quality in adjacent Bonalbo, a village 500 miles (800 kilometers) north of Sydney.

Federal Arts Divine Peter Garrett described Wrightson as a polished and plenteous novelist who would persist in to quicken new generations of readers.

Maurice Saxby, architect of “Portrayal of Australian Children’s Pamphlets,” described Wrightson and Ivan Southall, who died in 2008, as the pioneers of up to date Australian children’s hand-outs. “Her contribution was tremendous,” he said.
